The DBS HQ, located in Marina Bay Financial Centre, Singapore, is not your typical bank branch. It is a hub of activity and excitement, designed to be the beating heart of the area. The design concept was inspired by the spirit of 'New Asia', a place where people come to meet, dine, be inspired, and experience an ever-changing platform for new events, workshops, and exhibitions.
What sets the DBS HQ apart from other bank branches is its emphasis on creating bespoke environments that cater to each and every client's individual needs. The space houses a range of services, with a focus on banking and retail departments. It is the smiling face of DBS, offering a high-performance banking space that combines technology and efficiency.
The DBS HQ aims to transform the customer experience with its high-tech offerings. It features dedicated lounges, an interactive greeter wall, QR codes on interactive screens, a 300-seat auditorium, and even a TV studio. These features provide customers with an interactive and intuitive experience, making their banking transactions seamless and enjoyable.
The design team, led by Allen International, worked closely with DBS to bring their vision to life. The project was completed in September 2012, after 13 months of hard work. The DBS HQ was officially launched on October 17th, 2012, becoming a landmark in Marina Bay Financial Centre.
One of the main challenges faced by the design team was to enhance DBS's reputation as the most innovative bank in Asia. They wanted to bring banking to life and explore out-of-the-box concepts that would set DBS apart from its competitors. The result is a space that not only provides excellent banking services but also creates a memorable and enjoyable experience for customers.
The DBS HQ has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2013 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements. The DBS HQ truly showcases the best practices in art, science, design, and technology.
